Did you hear? Did you hear? DID YOU FUCKING HEAR?! Months ago?! You didn’t?! WHAT?! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! AND FUCK YOU! YOu Didn’t?! You couldn’t have NOT heard about it! It’s the fucking news of the decade! It’s fucking At The Drive-In, fuckers! It’s fucking one of the best late 90s bands ever! You never heard of them?! Are you under the age of 23 or something?! YOU FUCKING KID! SHUT UP! LISTEN TO THESE GUYS OR DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH OF NOT EVER LISTENING TO ONE OF THE BEST BANDS YOU WILL EVER HEAR IN YOUR LIFE! Oh…got carried away there…the news is…that At The Drive-In reunited. For live shows. Not recording new stuff though. Yet. That “yet” may be wishful thinking, but it’s a possibility.
Feast your ears and eyes on this live performance of one of my favorite songs: 198d.
Also, do yourself a favor and listen to the whole Relationship of Command album. It’s amazing stuff. Do it now. Or as soon as possible. Or right the fuck now.
Even if it’s not your “style”. Fuck your style for once and listen to something that makes you have to pay attention to it. Not all music is made to be part of the background while you do something else.
What have these guys been doing for the past decade they’ve been broken up? Half of them formed the band Sparta, which I linked to in an earlier post. The other half formed a much more progressive rock sort of band called The Mars Volta. Both bands an interesting departure from the roots of At The Drive In.
Also, if you’re a regular reader of this blog of mine, I suggest you follow me on Twitter. There’s some short stuff I put out every now and then that I think you’d enjoy if you like this stuff of mine. I renamed it to match the name of this blog, wtf__jacob. I actually started a new one specifically for the blog with just one _, but abandoned that idea really quickly, and eventually decided to rename the one I had for a few years. I figured I should actually invite people to follow me, instead of just letting the link sit silently on my forum profile. So follow me like a stalker if you want.

Is it safe yet?
DID YOU LISTEN TO THEM?!
NO CAUSE I WONT BE TOLD WHAT TO DO BEING SHOUTED AT!
ASK ME CALMLY AND NICELY!
Good sir, did you listen to this fine and entertaining band of upstanding talent and skill?
Ha. Pretending to be british. Tipical americans.
If you want an answer, you’ll have to say it in “american”
I wasn’t being “british”. Just painstakingly and overtly polite.
If I was going to be British I’d say something like, “Top of the morning to you, Charlie, good chap, have you had the chance to listen to the musical prattlings of At The Drive In?”
Fine…
YOU WERE SPEAKING NEW ENGLANDISHHHHHHHH
But seriously, HAVE YOU LISTENED TO THEM (meaning the all caps in the sincerest polite manner possible)?
You finally spoke correctly
Ish.
And here’s your answer:
No.
Change that, please.
